Mission Statement
The mission of Triangle Equine is to maximize the potential between horse owners and horses of all disciplines. We strive to provide open communication about diagnostic and therapeutic options, and work to tailor care of the patients with the resources of the clients. We recognize that continuing education of ourselves and our clients results in improved welfare of the horse.
Dr. Sally Vivrette
Dr. Sally Vivrette is a graduate of the University of California at Davis College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship at Cornell and medicine residency at UC Davis, and went on to be Board Certified in Veterinary Internal Medicine.
After a few years in equine private practice, Dr. Vivrette returned to UC Davis and completed a PhD in Comparative Pathology concentrating on equine reproduction. She moved to North Carolina in 1995 and was head of the Veterinary College's Field Service program until 2000. She received the Norden Distinguished Teaching Award and the North Carolina Horse Council Distinguished Service Award in 2000.
Dr. Vivrette started Triangle Equine in 2001 to provide horses and horse owners in the Triangle region with outstanding care of performance and pleasure horses. She strives to include the horse owner and horse trainer as part of the team to improve horse health and athletic performance. Her experience with both English and Western competition horses allows her to understand the problems with, and therapies available for, performance horses. She brings a special touch to equine practice with expertise in internal medicine, reproduction and preventive medicine.
Dr. Blades McKnight
Dr. Blades McKnight is a graduate of North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship at Woodside Equine Clinic in Virginia concentrating on care of pleasure and performance horses.
Dr. McKnight has taken advanced training and obtained certification in veterinary chiropractic care and has taken training in acupuncture. She joined Triangle Equine in 2004 and offers a unique ability to integrate traditional and complementary medicine skills in improving the health and athletic performance horses.
Dr. Wentz
Dr Wentz is our newest vet and a recent graduate from North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She lives here in Raleigh with her husband, Jonathan, and their dogs, and they have just moved into a new home in the area.
